Brazilian Geological and Paleontological Sites
Certain geological outcrops are specially important either because they either register the origin and evolution of the Earth in those sites, correlated with similar sites in other countries, or because they have exceptional aesthetically value. These GEOLOGICAL SITES deserve to be preserved and publicised.
To protect the rich Brazilian geological heritage and in accordance with UNESCO’s World Cultural and Natural Patrimony Convention, SIGEP – Brazilian Commission of Geological and Palaeobiological Sites, catalogues and describes the Brazilian geological and paleontological sites at http://sigep.cprm.gov.br/
I have already visited some of these sites; they were really worth the trip. Enjoy; seize the day.

Para proteger e divulgar o rico património geológico brasileiro seguindo a linha programática da UNESCO de preservação do património natural da humanidade, a SIGEP – Comissão de Sítios Geológicos e Paleontológicos do Brasil cataloga e descreve os sítios brasileiros em http://sigep.cprm.gov.br/
