Sínese commits to make TNFD-aligned disclosures in its corporate reporting starting 2024.

The TNFD explained: Why nature matters

We explore.

We are often asked to help solving complex problems – be it exploring for diamonds in remote areas with limited resources, or valuing mineral companies with multiple-type assets (operating mines, greenfield exploration claims), assessing the market potential for natural stone in the US market, mapping the biodiversity in the Angolan savana or the Brazilian cerrado, or assessing the stability of a deep marble quarry, managing exploration projects, supporting difficult negotiations.

Our team’s creativityexperience, and knowledge are our basic toolkit. We also use technological and methdological tools, e.g., remote sensing, economic and geological modelling, risk analysis, GIS, drone mapping, data science and statistical analysis, eDNA kits, core logging, geophysics, decision support systems (DSS).

We have a commitment to a better world; integrity and independence are key.

The importance of biodiversity for human life on Earth cannot be overstated, as it is intricately linked to our well-being, survival, and the functioning of our planet’s ecosystems.

The responsible extraction of minerals requires a harmonious coexistence with the natural world, and efforts to protect and restore biodiversity are essential for a sustainable future. Recognising the importance of biodiversity in mineral exploration can lead to more environmentally friendly practices and a better balance between human needs and the preservation of Earth’s rich biological heritage.

A small company, Sínese has big aspirations. We aim to build a better world. We start at home, becoming an Early Adopter of the recommendations of the TNFD. We aim to influence our customers and partners into this project – in Portugal, Angola, Brazil, the Mauritius, and elsewhere, especially in the mineral industry – in exploration and mining, but also in fisheries, the financial sector, agriculture and manufacturing.

Rather than “just” disclosing nature-related impacts, we aim to transform our mindset, the way we and our partners operate, creating a nature-positive prosperous economy. It’s a long way, better start early.
