Portuguese granite: color and textural range

Granitos Portugal- gama cromática e textural

Granite is a natural stone type extracted, processed and used in monuments, buildings and pavements in Portugal for millennia. Small samples (and photos) hardly capture the full variation range of color and texture of natural stones. Even so, the picture above tries to depict some of the Portuguese granites beauty. The image was (laboriously) created from individual smaller photos. Please note that the natural stone “granite” commercial designation includes many types of igneous rocks (granites, yes, but also gabbros, diorites, nepheline syenites, etc.)

Hope you enjoy.
