Luís Chambel has an experience of over 30 years in the mining industry – (curricula here: English and Portuguese versions – just click the links). Luís has degrees in Mining Engineering, Engineering Geology (MSc), Management (MBA) and Engineering Sciences (PhD). He has also developed a post doc project in Mining Engineering (UFMG, Belo Horizonte – Brazil). He his a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists and both EURO GEOL – Euro Geologist – and EUR ING – European Engineer.
In his professional activity, Luís Chambel visited, studied or worked at countless mines and quarries, in places and environments as diverse as diamonds in the Lundas Norte and Sul, Malange, Bié provinces in Angola, Cacoal and Pimenta Bueno, Rondônia, to the Jequitinhonha valley in Minas Gerais and Chapada Diamantina in Bahia – all in Brazil, gold, niobium and/or tantalum in the tropical forests of Congo – Brazzaville to the north of Portugal, to natural stone and industrial rocks and minerals (e.g. limestone, marble, granite) in Portugal, Minas Gerais – Brazil and Angola.
